Rich local media provide both a showcase for businesses and a "see-before-you buy" experience valued by customers wishing to make informed purchase decisions. Stuart Fish
Overview
Google Street View and now Bing Streetside have made the "visual" representation of urban
environments commonplace. The next step is the deep integration of rich media into such
visual frameworks to provide consumers with a rich immersive local visual search experience.
Panoramas, video and augmented reality all provide a rich and intuitive visual environment to
power a range of local applications.
European Directories "Virtual Tours"
"Virtual Tour," A European Directories local search product, integrates rich local media content
such as interior "360" panorama images, video and photos within a framework of downtown city
streets to create a truly integrated visual search experience. Users can browse shops, restaurants,
hotels, spas and more – or even visit a shopping mall and check out the stores. Business contact
information, maps, directions and product information provide customers with the tools they
need to facilitate purchasing and travel decisions.
